The Life and Times of Tim

It looks like HBO has found a successor to Arli$$ in the unfunny comedy sitcom category in The Life and Times of Tim.
This show was envisioned as a live-action comedy apparently but instead sucks in animated form. The first episode was ok plot wise, even though it wasn't that funny. The second episode's only "funny" moments/lines came from boxing with an old guy and threatening his probably also old wife sexually. So basically the only comedic aspect of the episode was telling the old guy you're gonna beat him up and rape his geriatric wife.
If you were into more "low key" comedy why dump Louis CK's sitcom and make this?
If you want edgy, off-beat, over the top comedy, why try it in this show and pick up Little Britain?
Life and TImes isn't as funny as the low key, black comedy Lucky Louie and isn't as irreverent and silly as Little Britain. Its about as comedic as Entourage, without that show's interesting plots/writing/characters/cele brities/good acting. Its humor is straight out of the 70s and if you had a script it would probably read like a bad episode of Three's Company without the sight gags and sexual tension. Basically, that last critique meant its Three's Company without any jokes or plot but just the random stupid stuff happening.
So why am I watching it if its not a funny black comedy, irreverent comedy or even a little entertaining?
The obvious answer is I'm not.
