The Comics Pull List (Oct. 22)

October 21st 2008 20:59
Tons of books last week to sift through for all types of fans. The number of readable titles this week are down, so that should give the wallets a break.

Birds of Prey #123 - Oracle and her Birds of Pry against the Joker. You know, the guy who crippled the former Bat Girl. Not picking up this title, but I could see why people would want to story wise.

Blue Beetle #32 - The appearance of a new Dr. Polaris. Are you curious? No? Well neither am I. Thought Dr. Polaris was a GL/The Ray foe, but oh well. Not for me.

Final Crisis #4 - The previews read like its building to something. Evil winning over Good. People apparently switching sides. The dichotomy of Good/Evil, morals vs will, and other things that people "fight" in their real lives. With all that said, doubt you get more than a half a panel or character development to see all of this per character, but who knows. Mark down for a maybe.

Superman: New Krypton #1 - The start of a 9-part arc that is an extension of a story where 100,000 Kryptonians are added to the main DCU census. One was great and made the Big Red S special. Three to four were okay because they fit in story wise. Where do you go with 100k? No idea and not really interested.

Capt. America #43 - Great writing. Great story. Good enough pacing. Why can't I get into this title? Because its not Cap. And worse yet, its Bucky. One of the almost untouched dead characters. Kind of just accepted him as the Winter Soldier when they put him in the Cap role.

Ghost Rider - Ghost Rider is back. What is the answer to the question which character came back who you could care less about? Bingo.

Secret Invasion #7 and 3 tie-ins - Penultimate chapter to the Invasion with a couple of extras. Brand New Day interaction won't be seen by me. New Avengers has how the villains react to the Invasion. And T-bolts have the good guy/villains reaction. If you were into the crossover, no reason to stop now,

Ultimate Spider-Man #127 - The real Spidey in my mind. The cover looks like Gwen Stacy, but who knows where they're going with this. I have been satisfied by every arc's conclusion in this title, so I don't think that'll change now.

Two Army of Darkness titles out - One is a crossover with Xena Warrior Princess for you Bruce Campbell fans.

Angel After the Fall - Still continuing where the TV series left off. Still a must for any fans.
