The Comics Pull List (Nov. 5)
November 4th 2008 09:37
Not a whole lot to get excited about but some good titles still coming out.
Justice Society of America #30 - People still interested in Starman after the JLA/JSA crossover they had some issues back should look at this arc. Start of an arc, so no idea if the story is interesting or not.
Secret Six #3 - Was completely into Volume 1 of this title. This is Volume 3, issue 3 and not on my real world pull list. Just not sure how this title fits into whatever storylines are out there and it isn't interesting enough to sell me on its own story anymore. I thought Deadshot and a revitalized Catman would get me hooked, but they haven't.
Terra #1 - Will probably pick this up just because this title has been talked about coming out for like a year plus. New character that's supposed to have an interesting take on the DCU. I don't buy that, but I'll check out the hype and probably get disappointed.
Cable #8 - Continuing the saga of raising the X-Messiah. Sorry, the X-Men universe just completely and uttlerly lost me. You'd think cutting the number of mutants down to under 250 would make the X-titles less confusing or more interesting but it just hasn't done it for me.
Franklin Richards Son of Geniuses - Some comparisons to Calvin and Hobbes for this title. Not sure since I never read the comic strip. All I know is these are pretty funny/entertaining comic books. Always a fun read.
Ultimatum #1 - I think this series is a must pick up for fans of the Ultimate Universe. It promises to tie the sudden appearance of mutants/heroes to their universe. They already retconned a couple of minor details to make the pieces fit so you know they at least have a plan.
Not much else out there. An issue of Naruto and Jump coming out this week. Good reads most of the time. A couple of good trades coming out, but they're hardcovers so you may want to wait a couple of months and save $20. Happy reading.
