Fantasy Postmortem (NFL Week 9)
November 3rd 2008 04:53
Production from all over this week. Didn't have to have elites to be productive again. Lot of comebacks for everyone that likes that sort of thing.
QB
Donovan McNabb was the man this week. Westbrook back in the backfield looks to have made Donovan a top 5 guy from here on out. Frerotte was solid in the first half of that game when they keyed on the run and had healthy final numbers. Bulger/Warner was a split for me. Honestly thought both could put up 300 but Steven Jackson being out hurt Bulger IMO. Orlovsky looking solid so hope the MRI comes back clean.
HB
All Day's final numbers were pretty good, but Peterson's owners were worried that first half. Miami's backs under 3 YPC and they still won. Oh and ESPN's fantasy experts were touting Fargas as a solid option till McFadden got back. SORRY NO. Seriously, you named yourself "the Talented Mr. Roto". That is the most egomaniacal nickname since Reed Richards' "Mr. Fantastic". And my shot in the dark, Ray "Rocket" Rice was the leading rusher for the week. Should I call myself "The Fantastic Senor Roto with the Gi-normous Penis"? Just tossing that out there to amuse myself. I'm neither Spanish nor am I fantastic.
WR
Daniels, Celek, and Hills were in the top 5 yardage receivers. Gotta do my homework cuz I would not have been able to tell you whose teams 2 of those guys were on before Sunday. Celek was an Eagle wide but not the one I streamed.
TE/K
Incomplete for me here. Didn't like any streams in either roster slot. And Cooley plays on Monday.
Looking like QB depth is expanding for the year. So point league people in the middle of the pack may want to try trading out any QBs for improvement at other slots. Ray Rice as McGahee's preseason handcuff looking good now since Willis seems to have loaded up on Twinkies and Milk this offseason and hasn't seemed to work it off two months into the season. Benson looking OK in Cincy. Now looks like a good time to sell on Dolphin backs too. If you can't run on Denver's swiss cheese defense, when can you run?
