Fantasy Postmortem (NFL Week 8)
October 27th 2008 19:43
The NFL got what it needed in England/Europe. An exciting, in the air game with LT stepping up. The only things that could have made it better would have been the Reggie Bush from a few weeks ago and a couple of 50 yard field goals to keep the Futbol fans happy. Waaay better than the last game in England.
QB
Delhomme was the only guy I thought who would do well to do well. McNabb and Favre got their numbers, but weren't spectacular. Pretty much every QB got off on Sunday, from Warner and Rivers down to Orlovsky and Thigpen of all people. Not many people should be complaining about QB production from week 8.
HB
Westbrook was the man by far. Thought this would be the last week you could get numbers from his backups, but I guess there was no working him into a workload. Portis was the 2nd best back, so I'll pat myself on the back. The real story is LT looks like he's back. And he came back in England of all places. Would have thought the travel would be a detriment to a guy who might be hurt, but what do I know I guess.
WR
Anyone who gave up on Avery in St Louis is kicking themselves right now. Standard plays were still the standard plays here. Has Tedd Ginn finally gotten put it all together? I think it was more that Buffalo D isn't that fast, but no idea.
TE
Had Kevin Boss in a 20 team, 2 TE league until this week. So this is the week he scored a TD obviously. Nothing out of my picks except some catches. Witten got hurt though, so that's my excuse.
K
Akers and Bryant got 9 each. Feeley didn't get off because the Jets didn't get off like everyone expected. The scoring came from across the pond in the kicking game.
Doubt anyone made gains roto wise other than in receiving yards in a very even week.
